SVP of Business Development
Job Description
Freeman+Leonard is seeking an SVP of Business Development with direct sales experience for a leading hospitality client in Dallas-Fort Worth. This position is a leadership role that will report to the CEO and is a new position being created at a pivotal time for the company. This sales leader will work directly with the CEO and other leaders on the Executive Leadership Team to design strategies to deliver growth for the company.
The SVP of Business Development will identify, develop, and manage client accounts, and lead, coach, and mentor the team members who are engaged in sales, business development, recruiting and operations activities related to clients and consultants. The role is responsible for all revenue generation for the company. You will develop and implement strategies to increase revenue by identifying potential customers, building relationships with key customers and stakeholders, and negotiating deals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop strategies and tactics to identify and penetrate accounts in keeping with the annual sales plan
• Lead and develop a growing business development and recruiting team of 8
• Develop and enhance processes to deliver revenue growth
• Create an annual sales plan with defined goals and objectives as agreed to with the CEO
• Research and analyze the business environment, competitors, and clients to develop new ideas and approaches to securing business
• Define monthly and quarterly goals for the business development and recruiting staff
• Design and manage team commission plan
• Prospect and qualify both warm and cold leads
• Conduct exploratory meetings (via video and phone calls) with new and existing customers to uncover their current and future staffing needs
• Manage the business development and recruiting staff, facilitating daily communications meetings, and assisting each of them individually with achieving their business development and/or recruiting goals
• Meet weekly with the CEO to review activities and progress against goals
• Manage the Company CRM – experience with Bullhorn preferred, but not required
• Manage customer satisfaction programs
• Attend networking and client events as appropriate
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 8-10 years in sales, business development, management associated with the hotel industry
• Direct sales experience working in the hotel/hospitality industry; leadership role preferred
• Proven track record of business development results including prospecting and closing new business
• Skilled in identifying, approaching, presenting, and building positive relationships with clients, particularly with decision makers
• Comfortable speaking with all levels of hotel/hospitality employees
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of the industry in which the company operates
• Excellent presentation skills
• Demonstrated experience building and managing business development or sales teams and associated support staff in a fast-growing environment
• “Servant leadership” skills and a high work ethic in order to lead by example
• Excellent organizational, time management and multitasking skill
• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software
• Education – Bachelor’s degree or sufficient experience required.
