HR Director
Job Description
Freeman+Leonard is seeking a Human Resources Director with construction industry experience or with experience in a heavily regulated business that has OSHA rules. Onsite position in Lubbock or Dallas.
The HR Director will support the organization's HR initiatives and play a pivotal role in shaping and executing HR strategies that align with business objectives, enhance company culture, and promote the growth and development of a diverse workforce. As the Human Resources Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR operations, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations within the construction industry.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures that align with the company's goals and objectives.
• Stay updated on industry trends, labor laws, and regulations to ensure HR practices remain current and compliant. Review policies regularly to ensure compliance.
• Lead the recruitment and onboarding processes for various construction-related roles, ensuring the acquisition of skilled and qualified personnel.
• Oversee employee relations, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting a harmonious work environment.
• Assist managers with performance management and appraisal systems to optimize employee productivity and development.
• Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts to foster a culture that values and promotes the contributions of all employees.
• Assist with Safety related issues where HR pertains. Navigate workers compensation claims as they arise.
• Maintain employee records according to company policy and legal requirements.
• Assist employees with enrollment in insurance and retirement plans. Ensure taxes, 401k, and child support payments are issued timely.
• Collect weekly payroll reports from staff to be processed for payment.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• A minimum of 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and guidelines is a plus.
• Moderate experience with workers' compensation claims is preferred.
• Proven ability to lead and manage HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and training.
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction-specific HR practices, regulations, and labor laws is a plus.
• Strong computer proficiency required. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Experience with Sage 300 is a plus.
• Ability to navigate, implement and provide training on HRIS systems.
• Excellent customer service, verbal/written communication skills, and sound judgment.
• Handling several tasks concurrently with attention to detail.
• Ability to function well independently and within a team.
• Ability to be flexible and self-motivated.
• Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
