Freeman+Leonard is seeking a Group Creative Director (Copy) to grow and lead a team of 25+ creatives by identifying and recruiting the right creative talent for the roles and helping to improve their unique skills. 15+ years of agency and/or in-house creative experience and 5+ years as a Creative Director leading national or global brands is required.

Responsibilities:
• Manage the creative process for numerous project teams simultaneously while ensuring consistent quality and effectiveness of communications across all device categories.
• Lead creative work spanning integrated campaigns, ATL localization, and social media platforms
• Be a brand steward, knowing and teaching the intricate details of the brand standards to the team and fully understanding the audiences we’re speaking to.
• Maintain responsibility for all projects and deliverables within the departments, consistently ensuring world-class work for both our agency and our clients.
• Staff every project with the right talent and manage the resourcing to ensure they have the time and space they need to deliver thoughtful ideas and pixel perfect work.
• Oversee the creative process and provide clear and actionable feedback
• Jump in and get your hands dirty by actively working the work when needed, and leading the biggest projects and juiciest opportunities inside your teams.
• Concept impressive ideas that make everyone wish they’d thought of them first while helping the rest of your team learn to do the same.
• Deliver big campaigns that are tight and consistent across all executions and always ladder up to the strategic insight.
• Concept and script compelling work for everything from social, to OLV, to OOH.
• Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to ensure alignment every step of the way.
• Manage partner agencies to ensure work supports brand standards and achieves our creative and strategic goals.
• Be a steady and guiding hand through production, including being the creative lead on-set and in post.
• Use your influence skills to build a strong rapport with clients who trust your judgement and believe in the potential of everything you bring to the table.
• Learn from every campaign. Use the results to make the next one even more incredible.
• Partner directly with senior leadership across the agency to grow the team and the business, providing clear updates and proposing solutions regularly.
• Establish relationships with key clients, earning their trust as respect as an agency creative leader
• Lead by example and set the standard for creative excellence.
• Create a positive, open, honest, judgement-free environment where team members feel valued and empowered.
• Address any employee issues in timely, positive, and effective manner.
• Grow and evolve a team of 20+ creative professionals by identifying and recruiting the right creative talent for the roles and helping to improve their unique skills.
• Work with individual team members to establish career goals. Schedule regular check-ins to discuss progress and introduce opportunities.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in advertising, marketing, communications, or journalism
• 15+ years of agency and/or in-house creative experience leading teams focused on developing successful campaigns with measurable results.
• 5+ years as a Creative Director leading national or global brands
• Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor large creative teams.
• An online portfolio of smart, exciting, and award-winning work that shows a range of conceptual and tactical executions.
• Experience leading shoots and working closely with production.
• Social experience is required.
• Above the line campaign experience is a must.
• Passionate, positive, and solution-oriented.
