Freeman+Leonard is seeking an Account Manager for a sports and entertainment marketing agency.

This is an ONSITE, 5 days per week position in Dallas, TX

 

The position is part account strategist, part producer, part creative and leader of all functions impacting designated client experiences.  Responsibilities include day-to-day operations in two (2) critical areas:
  1. Account Services (Client Account Services, Leadership Role) 
  2. Event Production (Planning and Management in Support of Brand Execution and Activation)

 

Responsibility: Account Services 
  • Act as a resource and provide guidance to clients regarding a client’s life, including brand management and activation execution
  • Act as liaison for all internal and external client creative, planning and activations
  • Manage account approvals and brand compliance 
  • Serve as on-site client contact at events, when required

 

Responsibility: Event Production
  • Plan and budget for event production needs
  • Source and supervise contract event production staff, vendors and 3rd-party agencies supporting events
  • Responsible for brand experience for all supporting sponsors at events
  • Responsible for planning, budgeting and staffing experiential marketing and brand activations

 

Staff and Project Leadership
  • Focus the efforts of agency personnel so that projects are completed as proposed – on time, within budget and with minimum of disruption to daily activity of client or agency 
  • Outline expectations of, and communicate effectively
  • Effectively assign, delegate, coordinate and monitor the work of agency staff members, independent contractors and 3rd-party agencies assigned to client projects
  • Demonstrate an investment in, and commitment to, the agency/client “team” in order to develop and support a positive mindset about the work, the client and the agency staff that is involved
  • Establish rapport and trust with a range of staff members with simultaneous focus on KPIs 
  • Provide a model for project leadership – prepared and proactive, thorough and accurate
  • Encourage and demonstrate unity behind team and agency decision-making
  • Effectively incorporate senior staffers from account management as well as other departments as project objectives or issues warrant

 

Essential Functions: 
  • Earn and maintain each clients’ respect and confidence as a trusted advisor bringing value to their business through a strong commitment to success, consistent performance and the ability to develop a wide range of ideas and solutions
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of, and be conversant in, each clients’ business – their key issues, competitive situation and industry trends
  • Responsible for day-to-day activities on assigned accounts
  • Responsible for coordinating and tracking all elements of client activations
  • Act as support system for clients outside designated accounts  
  • Provide superior and meticulous client service to entire client base 
  • Identify and service client needs in a timely manner  
  • Assist LST accounting department to manage accounting needs on assigned accounts
  • Coordinate internal communications while maintaining positive working relationships with Team members to effectively fulfill client needs
  • Effectively and positively contribute to the overall Team  
  • Demonstrate confidence and authority as the day-to-day voice of the agency team with clients

 

Requirements of the Position:
  • Minimum 2 to 5-years of experience in agency-based work in either sports, events or experiential marketing, required
  • Industry specific professional training or degree, preferred
  • Ability to grow and maintain new business, preferred
  • Ability to train, mentor and supervise junior event production and account services personnel, required
  • The position is based onsite in Dallas, TX
  • The position requires occasional travel to events sites pursuant to advanced planning
  • Must maintain a strong professional working relationship with each client while maintaining a certain professional distance
  • Discretion, confidentiality, poise under pressure, strong organization skills, an ability to adapt to changing situations and a sense of humor are hallmark traits of a successful Team member
